The Discovery Academy Preschool is a self-supporting, non-profit ministry of White United Methodist Church. It's mission is to educate preschool children in a loving Christian environment through the whole-child philosophy. Using a theme-based curriculum, preschoolers will discover ways to grow emotionally, physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually. We believe that parents are a child's first and most important teacher and we are here to support you in that endeavor. We will work together with you to benefit your child's growth and development in every way possible.
Discovery Academy is a safe, secure, loving environment for children. At DAP children will learn pre-reading, pre-writing, phonics, and number skills through play, child-initiated activities, and teacher-directed activities. Children have varying attention spans and a variety of learning styles, therefore they learn best when ideas and skills are repeated often using a variety of teaching methods. In addition to academics, the DAP Students will learn about the love of God. They will understand that God created them, their families, & friends, and the world around them. They will learn that the Bible is God's Word and prayer is how we talk to him. They will discover that Jesus is God's son and that he loves them. And that the church is a place where God's people love and help one another.
